Over a night 6/7 of March the beam intensity was very low , i.e. ~ 0.3 enA (compared to the 12 enA indicated in the proposal) and the beam energy
was higher than requested in the proposal.
We have requested for a higher beam intensity. The operators are trying to improve it now. |

Hakim et al., played with the beam - they put the C cone and tested it - it worked for C but then it didn't work with Ca.
We decided to take the beam. First run is the test with the empty frame to see the background.

We decided to change the target to 197Au, 2 mg/cm2 (pos 6) in order to check how the gamma spectra look like.
We obtained a very clean gamma spectrum compared to the one collected with Pb target. We concluded that the Pb target is probably contaminated
and it's also probably the effect of the frame size - Au target is mounted on a frame with a bigger hole than Pb, means that we could have seen also |
